Sim800L is an ideal solution for M2M applications, suitable for automotive, industrial & PDA, personal tracking, electricity environment detection, wireless POS, smart metering, and other M2M applications, to provide comprehensive GSM / GPRS text messaging, voice, and data transmission services. The SIM800L module supports a quad-band GSM/GPRS network, available for GPRS and SMS message data long transmission. The SIM800L communicates with the microcontroller via UART port, supports commands including 3GPP TS 27.007, 27.005 and SIMCOM enhanced AT Commands. It also has built-in level translation, so it can work with a microcontroller of a higher voltage than the 2.8V default. Besides, the board also supports the A-GPS technique, which is called mobile positioning and gets position from the mobile network.
