We changed the conventional antenna into the soft copper tube antenna. After many flight tests, the signal reception is better and the distance can reach one kilometer. The biggest feature is that the antenna can be folded arbitrarily, making installation more convenient. Smaller in size and lighter in weight. It can be placed inside the casing; it can also be tied to the machine arm.
Fully compatible with a 3DR-designed data transmission module, the Air module (serial port) is used for aircraft mounting, and the Ground module ( USB interface) is used for connecting to a computer on the ground.
There is no standard for transmission distance. Please do not use this in the jungle or buildings to test the quality of the product. With the standard 3dBi antenna + default parameters, the maximum range is 1000 meters (adjust the transmit power to the highest for more)
When any two modules are wirelessly connected, they can adjust parameters (or update firmware) through a dedicated setting tool or Mission Planner. If there is a problem with the configuration and the two modules cannot be connected, it is necessary to Set up the Air module separately. Because the Air module only has a TTL-level serial port, it requires a separate FTDI tool connection.
